Richmond Hill: two policemen died following a shooting

Two police officers among the four people who were killed following a shooting in the Brookside Drive area around 7am this morning. The quiet residential neighborhood, dominated by houses, grocery stores, a church and a primary school, this morning has turned into a far west setting. Police said investigations are underway and the area remains closed for now, companies, even outside the block area, have their lobbies and closed business areas and are not allowing customers enter now. Police chief Leanne Fitch and Fredericton’s mayor Mike O’Brien will hold a press conference about the incident at 3:30 pm this afternoon. The police said that the names of the victims have not yet been released. For the moment the flags remain at half-mast in Fredericton, and New Brunswick Premier Brian Gallant has conveyed his condolences to the victims and their families.
