Dashcam captures Highway 7 collision in Richmond Hill that sent vehicle sailing

A dramatic accident on Highway 7 near Yonge Stree this morning around 9:15 am where a camera positioned on the dashboard captured the moment when the impact occurred to the point where the car bounced. In the video that was immediately uploaded on social media, you see a small red sedan trying to turn left on the ramp and is hit on the passenger side by a white sedan traveling west on Highway 7.

The driver of the white vehicle seems to lose control and the car crashes on the north-west curb before it is lost in the air and breaks a pedestrian light in its flight path as it crosses the air.

The interested curious rushes from their vehicles to help the injured parties.

The York Regional Police said at least three people were injured in the collision. None of the injuries is life-threatening, police said.

The incident blocked the busy highway between Yonge Street and Red Maple Road for several hours.

The police are investigating.
